Howdy folks!
I know it’s been a while but there are finally some things in the pipe that I want to talk about.
A Big Thank You to My Viewers!
First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone as the site has continued to maintain 2-3+ thousand monthly views for the past six months. Here’s to hoping we break a consistent three thousand!
Future Plans:
In my last news article, I highlighted a couple of future plans surrounding “Log Analytics for Windows Patch Compliance and Monitoring” and “Log Analytics for Windows App Usage.”
While a functional tool and a nearly fully written initial article, I have decided to temporarily shelve the Patch Compliance and Monitoring piece. Reason being, I learned that there are some other options for monitoring Windows Updates through Log Analytics with more native Windows tools. What I’m primarily referring to is sending Telemetry data to Log Analytics which if that interests you, you can read about here: Log Analytics & Update Compliance – Building A Windows Update Dashboard! – MSEndpointMgr
I stumbled into that article while writing my article about my tool and have ultimately chosen to put my tool on hold until I can evaluate and compare what (if any) benefits it brings. Unfortunately, I don’t currently foresee that happening soon.
The second topic is Log Analytics for Windows App Usage. After re-evaluating some plans, I have decided to move forward on this subject instead of the above. It needs a bit of a dusting and cleaning but once ready I plan to move forward with getting it published in a similar fashion to my other collectors. In short, this lets you collect information from true users who are launching and closing executables. I’ll save the full details for the initial article which I would expect in the coming weeks.
Thank you all again for the continued support and interest!
